BLITZKRIEG: Greece Aftermath

September 23, 2008

NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) legends BLITZKRIEG have issued the following update:

"The band would like to thank the promoters of both recent Greek shows, also the venue staff of both dates and last but not least everyone that showed up on Friday [Sept. 19] at The Necropolis in Athens and Saturday [Sept. 20] at Harleys in Thessaloniki.

"As those of you who attended the Saturday show will know of Brian's [Ross, vocals] injury en route from Athens to Thessaloniki. At that time no one knew of the prognosis of his injury. Brian battled on in pain and completed the whole show to the best of his abilities (a true pro!). On arriving home on Sunday, Brian checked into the hospital to find out that he had punctured a lung and fractured ribs from his injury. As of tonight [Tuesday, Sept. 23] he still remains in hospital.

"I hope I speak for us all... bandmates, fans and friends, that Brian has a safe and speedy recovery!

"Anyone wishing to send Brian a message, please email [email protected].

BLITZKRIEG's new album, "Theatre of the Damned", was released on August 10, 2007 via Germany's Armageddon Music. The CD was recorded at Absurd Studio in Hamburg with producer Schrödey and co-producer Biff Byford (SAXON). According to a posting on the Armageddon web site, "Theatre of the Damned" "offers the same authentic heavy metal of the '80s along with a super freshness and total attitude." Check out audio samples on the band's MySpace page.

"Theatre of the Damned" is the follow-up to "Sins and Greed", which was released in July 2005 via Metal Nation Records.
